Copyright and DMCA

Deepslate respects the intellectual property of others and expects its users to do the same. Notes are private: they are only visible to their owner and to the people the owner shares them with. Even so, if you believe content stored or shared on Deepslate infringes your copyright, you can ask us to remove it.

How to send a notice

Write to support@deepslatenotes.com with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:

  1. Your name, address, phone number and email address.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  3. Where the content is on Deepslate: for example, the @username of the person who shared it with you and the title of the note. Because notes are private, we cannot search them without this information.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on their behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).

This follows the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you are in the European Union, the same address receives notices about illegal content under the Digital Services Act.

What happens next

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, write to the same address with: your name, address, phone and email; the content that was removed; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live; and your signature. We may restore the content unless the person who sent the notice tells us they have started legal action.

Repeat infringers

We may suspend or delete the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
